Sicily is the biggest region in Italy and the greater island of the Mediterranean Sea. The first inhabitants of Sicily were the "Sicani", that they reached the island just before the "Siculi" from which it cames the name of the island. It comprises the islands of Pantelleria and Ustica, the Aeolian, the Egadi and the Pelagie. Sicily, is a charming region, emblema of the Mediterranean culture, enriched from Arabic contaminations and Normanne ones, are characterized from a generally sweet climate, thanks to which it is possible to plan a pleasant vacation in any period of the year.
Sicily offers to the tourists an uncomparable history, culture, visits to the archaeological sites in many places like Agrigento, Siracusa, Selinunte, Segesta Taormina and Tindari. The sea, great tourist attraction, offers the possibility to practice different aquatic sports.
Etna (3323 meters), the highest active volcano in Europe, dominates on this wonderful island, attracting million of visitors in its periods of activity.
